Do you play games on Facebook? Not the “copy-and-paste this status if you love Jesus” kind of games, or poke-me-poke-you-back games, but the kind that start in Farm and end in –ville? If you do, you might have noticed that it gets a little bit repetitive sometimes. There’s no real plot. It’s just build stuff and grow stuff, give stuff and beg for stuff. I have relatives who are on a waiting list for a 12-step group to help them kick the social media game habit. I’m about to enable them in their addiction by introducing them to something a little bit different, but still glorious in its time-wasting possibilities.
Though not a Facebook gamer myself, I do love a good, long game of Civilization, so I think I understand why half of all Facebook users login just to play social media games. It’s a relaxing way to turn off the brain for a while and involve your Facebook friends.
Tail Towns Friends is a free-to-play social game much like the ones Facebookers already play, but with adorable, photo-realistic graphics, multiple characters to meet and interact with, and a heaping helping of drama to make things interesting. Think soap opera, but with social interaction and furry creatures.
When you bring home a Tail Towns figurine and register him on the Facebook app, he’ll come to life, unlocking new storylines and helping you earn new décor for your country home. (You really need a country home to get away from it all. These critters are working you hard!)
Play: You can find out more at the Tail Towns blog, or just by going to the Tail Towns Friends Facebook app and getting started.
Win: One Get Along Home reader will win a Tail Towns Friends figurine, which comes with a code so you can register it and bring it to life online. This is a Twitter giveaway, so you’ll need a free Twitter account to play. To enter, tweet a description of your own dream garden or country getaway, including the hashtag #TailTowns in your entry. Then come back here and leave a link to your tweet in the comments.
Details: This giveaway is open to anyone in the US. This giveaway will be open until midnight, August 3, 2012. The winner will be chosen by And the Winner Is… WordPress plugin. The winner will have 48 hours to respond to my email. If there is no response after 48 hours, I’ll have to choose another winner. Please use a valid email address in your comments so that I can contact you if you win! Please use one email address per entrant, per household, per IP address. The giveaway provider (not Get Along Home) will be responsible for prize fulfillment. Good luck!
