I have a confession to make. I’m not green. Not at all. Now, that’s not a real confession kind of confession, since I don’t really think that’s a bad thing. But I do like a lot of “green” products, because they are often better in quality than conventional products. When I was contacted to do a review of ecostore USA’s products, I jumped at the chance—not because I am green, but because I am cheap. I’m on a quest to never pay for dishwasher detergent again.
I asked to review the Auto Dish Powder and the Toilet Cleaner. Sometimes these review opportunities don’t go so well, so I was relieved to find that the products I tried out actually work!
The Auto Dish Powder: The dish powder actually got my dishes cleaner than the detergent I normally use. My glasses don’t h
ave a spot on them, which is unusual. Maybe it’s just my sensitive pregnant-lady nose, but my usual detergent also has a slightly unpleasant odor, kind of like feet, that ecoSTORE’s dish powder does not have. There’s no scent at all, as far as I can tell, and that’s just the way I like it. It seems a little pricey to me, but you only need to use a tablespoon of the powder per load. Given the small amount you use, $12.00 for a bottle isn’t quite as bad as it sounds, especially if you’re like me and use less than recommended. My dishes are still coming clean using half that amount. I doubt I’ll be buying this, because it is out of my price range, but I wish I could afford it!
The Toilet Cleaner: This stuff works wonders! My toilets get pretty yucky. I have two little boys who forget to flush. Since I don’t often use the
ir bathroom, that sometimes means I don’t notice the yuck until it has sat there for a few hours. Our old, porous toilets seem to hold the stench in no matter what I use to clean it. The conventional cleaner I’ve been using masks the smell and makes the toilet look better for about 2 days. I last used ecoSTORE’s toilet cleaner a week ago. Still no stink! This product is not only worth the $8.00 price, I may just try to carve a place out in my household budget for it. It really is the best toilet cleaner I’ve used.
Unfortunately, I placed my order while ecoSTORE USA was in the middle of setting up operations in their new Michigan headquarters, so my shipment didn’t get here as quickly as I would have liked. I was a little disappointed at how long it took to get here. They did send a bar of yummy-smelling soap by way of apology. All told, my experience with ecoSTORE USA has been a positive one.
