It has been a long time since I took the Myers-Briggs personality test for real. I can tell you that this internet version is accurate. It’s the same result I’ve gotten in a job-related test back in my pre-mommy days. It’s a short test, and after you take it, there’s a ton of info on the web about each type, if you’re interested in being told things you may or may not want to hear about yourself. For instance, did you know that INTJ’s aren’t likely to always care about the social niceties? Not that they’re horrible people, really, but they tend not to worry too much about what is expected of them. I like this description:
This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense.
Which, of course, does not happen. And you wonder why I stay home?
So, what’s your type?
